Automatronix contains 6 'hot keys' located on the main screen , for immediate playing of files. These keys are independent of mode, events or players, and function individually and independently. Typical examples for use are 'shotgun' jingles, drop-in insertions, and liners. Each key can instantly start, stop, rewind, clear and load on demand. You can load any HotKey at any time.
HOTKEY LOADING-
You can load all HotKeys at
once. This is convenient when changing jocks or formats.
To LOAD- Go to the MENU BAR,
click on FILE then LOAD HOTKEYS. A window will open which allows you to select
the proper file (*.HKL). Select the desired file then press OK. NOTE- Keys
are loaded from 1-6; they will load exactly in the order and sequence as
how saved.
You can also drag a file
from the file list window into any of the hotkeys.
SAVING HOTKEYS -
To LOAD- Go to the MENU BAR,
click on FILE then LOAD HOTKEYS. A window will open which allows you to select
the proper file (*.HKL). Select the desired file then press OK. NOTE- Keys
are loaded from 1-6; they will load exactly in the order and sequence as
how saved.
HOT KEY AUTO SAVING/LOADING
UPON STARTUP/PROGRAM EXIT
Automatronix automatically saves
and loads the HotKeys to the last known state. If you have opened a Hot Key
list, and exit the program, it will auto-save whatever keys are loaded at
the time the program exits. Conversely, when you re-open Automatronix, it
will re-load the HotKeys exactly how they were when the program was last
exited.
SCHEDULING HOTKEYS FROM AN
EVENT
You can also schedule Hotkey
files to load at a specified time. Use the Event scheduler for this option.
You can start/stop any/all combinations of keys from either the corresponding numbers 1-6 on the keyboard, or clicking the loaded key with the mouse. Clicking or pressing the corresponding key on the keyboard alternately starts and pauses the playing of the loaded key. The key color changes from blue to green upon initial start, changes to yellow when paused. As the file is within five (5) seconds of it's end, the player will alternately flash orange/green. Upon file completion, the key turns blue. You can start and pause as many times as you alternately press the HotKey. When a Hotkey is pressed and during file play, a small red button (marked STOP) will pop-up. If pressed, the file will immediately STOP and instantly REWIND. The red button will dissappear when the file is finished.
HOTKEY FADER FEATURE
Any hotkey has a keyboard fade feature. This is useful when the operator does not want to use the console ("board") to adjust the volume, especially during a live voice-over. Once ANY hotkey file is started, the volume starts at full level. By pressing the "[" key, the hotkey can be faded down, and pressing the "]" key will bring the player faded up. Pressing another hotkey will allow the newest started hotkey to have this feature. Once the hotkey file is stopped, the volume returns to maximum. (note- the KEYSHORTS must remain ON to use this feature) A corresponding vertical bar, located to the left side of the main players will show the relative volume of this fade function.
If you right-click on any HotKey, a mini-menu will appear. Here are the functions and descriptions of this mini-menu:
LOAD KEY(x)- This allows the operator to manually load the desired file into the key. Once a VALID file is loaded, the corresponding key will illuminate BLUE, indicating the key is ready to be activated. NOTE- The HotKey will not load when the corresponding file is PLAYING.
CLEAR KEY- This will remove any file that is loaded into the corresponding HotKey. NOTE- The HotKey will not clear when the corresponding file is PLAYING
FAST REWIND- This will immediately and instantly STOP and REWIND the corresponding file, regardless if it is PAUSED or it is PLAYING.
Once a key is loaded, and
is started, a red STOP button appears below the Hotkey. Clicking on this button
instantly STOPS and REWINDS the HotKey file.
2) Multiple HotKeys can be started, stopped, paused, etc.
3) The red button that appears below the Hotkey (once started) will instantly STOP and REWIND the file.
4) Hotkeys can play ROT and RNR files. This is particularly useful when playing randomized or sequential files on network liners, etc.
5) Hotkeys can be triggered from remote control (RS-232 or TCP/IP) for use in satellite mode of operation.
